Acknowledgments

Many people have contributed to making this work possible and all have my deepest gratitude. I especially would like to thank the entire staff of the New Market Battlefield Park for their cheerful interest and support. Special thanks go to Rae T. Panella and Arthur S. Hardyman for making production and editing a pleasure. Linda M. Cajka designed the brochure, and Sharon Dougherty did her usual perfect typing job of the manuscript. Finally, this work could not have been done without the support and interest of the Army leadership and the Virginia Military Institute. Thank you one and all. The errors are mine; the credit is yours.
