High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle

The high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV), or "Hummer," is a highly versatile fourwheel-drive tactical vehicle. Based on the M998 chassis, it comes with various modules and kits that allow for a number of configurations, to include armament carrier for the TOW missile system (M966), ambulance (M997), and cargo-and-troop carrier. Overall, the HMMWV is an adaptable system that lends itself to many field-expedient modifications.
