- Inactivated 17 May 1972 in Germany
- Redesignated 16 September 2000 as Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2d Squadron, 14th Cavalry
- Assigned 16 May 2002 to the 25th Infantry Division, and activated at Fort Lewis, Washington (organic elements currently constituted and activated)
- Relieved 27 July 2005 from assignment to the 25th Infantry Division and assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division
- Redesignated 1 October 2005 as the 2d Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment
