- Reorganized and redesignated 16 November 1987 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion, 159th Aviation, and relieved from assignment to the 101st Airborne Division (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
- Inactivated 15 September 1997 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina
- Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion, 159th Aviation, redesignated 16 October 1997 as Company B, 159th Aviation, and activated at Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia
- Inactivated 15 May 2004 at Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia
- Redesignated 1 October 2005 as Company B, 159th Aviation Regiment
- Redesignated 16 October 2006 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment, and activated in Germany (organic elements concurrently activated)
