        Constituted 2 February 1901 in the Regular Army as the Band, 15th Cavalry

        Organized 12 February 1901 at the Presidio of San Francisco, California

        Reorganized and redesignated 3 June 1916 as the Band Section, Headquarters Troop, 15th Cavalry

        Reorganized in 1921 as the Band Section, Service Troop, 15th Cavalry

        Inactivated 18 October 1921 at Fort D. A. Russell, Wyoming

        Band Section withdrawn 31 July 1927 from the Service Troop, 15th Cavalry, and redesignated as the Band, 15th Cavalry

        Activated 22 March 1942 at Fort Riley, Kansas

        Reorganized and redesignated 2 June 1944 as the 62d Army Ground Forces Band

        Redesignated 15 May 1947 as the 62d Army Band
