  • Constituted 29 March 1942 in the Organized Reserves as the Band, 82d Infantry Division Artillery
  • Activated 27 April 1942 at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana
  • Reorganized and redesignated 15 August 1942 as the Band, 82d Airborne Division Artillery
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 March 1945 as the 82d Airborne Division Band
  • (Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps)
  • Withdrawn 15 November 1948 from the Organized Reserve Corps and allotted to the Regular Army
  • Consolidated 25 May 1964 with Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, Support Group, 82d Airborne Division, and consolidated unit reorganized and redesignated as Headquarters, Headquarters and Band, 82d Airborne Division Support Command
  • Reorganized and redesignated 30 April 1968 as Headquarters, Headquarters Company and Band, 82d Airborne Division Support Command
  • Band element withdrawn 21 September 1972 from Headquarters, Headquarters Company and Band, 82d Airborne Division Support Command, and assigned to the 82d Administration Company (redesignated 21 June 1975 as the 82d Adjutant General Company)
  • Band element withdrawn 16 September 1987 from the 82d Adjutant General Company and redesignated as the 82d Airborne Division Band
