Constituted 11 January 1927 in the Organized Reserves as the Band, 331st Medical Regiment

Organized 10 December 1942 at Camp McCain, Mississippi

Reorganized and redesignated 11 January 1944 as the 224th Army Band

Reorganized and redesignated 25 May 1944 as the 224th Army Ground Forces Band

Redesignated 25 January 1945 as the 451st Army Service Forces Band

Inactivated 15 April 1946 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana

Redesignated 17 May 1947 as the 451st Army Band

(Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)

Activated 16 February 1953 at Terre Haute, Indiana

Consolidated 27 March 1963 with the 103d Infantry Division Band (see ANNEX) and consolidated unit designated as the 451st Army Band; concurrently location changed to Fort Snelling, Minnesota

ANNEX

Constituted 2 August 1943 in the Army of the United States as the Band, 103d Infantry Division

Activated 8 August 1943 at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana

Redesignated 1 December 1943 as the 103d Infantry Division Band

Inactivated 15 November 1945 in Germany

Allotted 28 September 1948 to the Organized Reserve Corps and assigned to the 103d Infantry Division

Activated 1 October 1948 at Mankato, Minnesota

Location changed 1 October 1949 to Minneapolis, Minnesota; on 5 November 1951 to Fort Snelling, Minnesota

(Organized Reserve Corps redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)

Consolidated 27 March 1963 with the 451st Army Band and consolidated unit designated as the 451st Army Band; concurrently relieved from assignment to the 103d Infantry Division
