  • Redesignated 1 January 1960 as the 492d Civil Affairs Company
  • Inactivated 23 December 1974 at Jackson, Mississippi
  • Redesignated 16 March 2005 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 492d Civil Affairs Battalion, and activated at Phoenix, Arizona (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
  • Ordered into active military service 18 April 2005 at Phoenix, Arizona; released from active military service 3 and 28 April 2008 and reverted to reserve status
  • Location changed 16 December 2009 to Buckeye, Arizona
