• Constituted 1 January 1990 in the Ohio Army National Guard as Detachment 1, Company D, 216th Engineer Battalion
• Organized and Federally recognized 13 February 1992 at Logan
• Reorganized and redesignated 1 January 1993 as Company D, 216th Engineer Battalion; location changed to Columbus
• Reorganized and redesignated 1 December 1994 as Company C, 112th Engineer Battalion
• Reorganized 1 September 1999 as Company C, 112th Engineer Battalion, an element of the 38th Infantry Division
• Ordered into active Federal service 30 January 2003 at Columbus; released from active Federal service 28 January 2005 and reverted to state control
• Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 2007 as the 204th Engineer Detachment and relieved from assignment to the 38th Infantry Division
• Ordered into active Federal service 10 May 2009 at Columbus; released from active Federal service 13 June 2010 and reverted to state control
