Constituted 26 June 1942 in the Army of the United States as the 456th Engineer Depot Company

Activated 20 July 1942 at Camp Barkeley, Texas

2d Platoon, 456th Engineer Depot Company reorganized and redesignated 21 July 1945 as the 1444th Engineer Supply Detachment (remainder of unit hereafter separate lineage)

Inactivated 5 April 1946 in the Philippines

Redesignated 19 November 1965 as the 444th Engineer Detachment and allotted to the Regular Army

Activated 15 February 1966 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri

Inactivated 23 August 1968 in Vietnam

Withdrawn 3 May 2004 from the Regular Army and allotted to the Army Reserve

Activated 16 October 2007 at Grand Prairie, Texas
