  • Organized and Federally recognized 1 May 1974 in the Kentucky Army National Guard at Prestonsburg as Detachment 1, Company B, 1st Battalion, 149th Infantry
  • Converted, reorganized, and redesignated 1 November 1985 as Company B, 206th Engineer Battalion
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 1995 as Detachment 1, Company C, 206th Engineer Battalion
  • Consolidated 1 September 2002 with Detachment 1, Company D, 206th Engineer Battalion (organized and Federally recognized 9 February 1999 at Prestonsburg), and consolidated unit designated as Company C, 206th Engineer Battalion
  • Ordered into active Federal service 5 July 2004 at Prestonsburg; released from active Federal service 1 November 2005 and reverted to state control
  • Ordered into active Federal service 2 March 2008 at Prestonsburg; released from active Federal service 5 April 2009 and reverted to state control
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 2009 as the 577th Engineer Company
  • HOME STATION: Prestonsburg (less detachment at Pikesville)
