- Ordered into active Federal service 15 October 1961 at Superior; released from active Federal service 10 August 1962 and reverted to state control
- Relieved 30 December 1967 from assignment to the 32d Infantry Division
- Location of Headquarters changed 1 April 2001 to Hayward
- Ordered into active Federal service 15 March 2003 at home stations; released from active Federal service 15 July 2004 and reverted to state control
- Reorganized 1 September 2008 to consist of Headquarters Company and the Support company (concurrently; former Headquarters Company reorganized as the Support Company and the 950th Engineer Company [hereafter separate lineage], Companies A, B, and C reorganized as the 273d Engineer Company, the 950th Engineer Company, and the 951st Engineer Company – hereafter separate lineages)
- Location of Headquarters changed 25 September 2008 to Chippewa Falls
- Ordered into active Federal service 5 March 2010 at home stations; released from active Federal service 8 April 2011 and reverted to state control
