  • Organized 1 January 1968 from existing units in the Georgia Army National Guard as the 878th Engineer Battalion with Headquarters at Augusta
  • Ordered into active Federal service 1 April 2003 at home stations; released from active Federal service 3 August 2004 and reverted to state control
  • Reorganized 1 September 2007 to consist of the Headquarters Company and the Support Company (Company A concurrently reorganized and redesignated as the Support Company) (remainder of organic elements-hereafter separate lineages)
  • HOME STATION: Augusta
