  • Organized in 1905 in the Missouri National Guard at Kansas City as the Hospital Corps Detachment, 3d Infantry
  • Called into Federal service 18 June 1916
  • Mustered into Federal service 7 July 1916 at Nevada; mustered out of Federal service 26 September 1916 at Nevada
  • Called into Federal service 25 March 1917; mustered into Federal service 26 March 1917 at Nevada as the Sanitary Detachment, 3d Infantry
  • Drafted into Federal service 5 August 1917
  • Consolidated 1 October 1917 with the Sanitary Detachment, 6th Infantry (organized in 1908 at West Plains) and consolidated unit reorganized and redesignated as the Medical Detachment, 140th Infantry, an element of the 35th Division
  • Demobilized 12-13 May 1919 at Fort Riley, Kansas
  • Former Sanitary Detachment, 3d Infantry, consolidated 6 August 1920 with the Sanitary Detachment, 7th Infantry (organized and Federally recognized 26 September 1918 at Kansas City) and consolidated unit designated as the Sanitary Detachment, 3d Infantry (former Sanitary Detachment, 6th Infantry - hereafter separate lineage)
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 May 1921 as the Medical Department Detachment, 3d Combat Engineers
  • Redesignated 1 October 1921 as the Medical Department Detachment, 110th Engineers, an element of the 35th Division
  • Inducted into Federal service 23 December 1940 at Kansas City as the Medical Detachment, 110th Engineers
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 March 1942 as the Medical Detachment
    110th Engineer Battalion, an element of the 35th Infantry Division
  • Redesignated 1 July 1942 as the Medical Detachment, 110th Engineer Combat Battalion
  • (110th Engineer Combat Battalion relieved 27 January 1943 from assignment to the 35th Infantry Division)
  • Inactivated 31 January 1946 in Korea
  • Reorganized and Federally recognized 18 March 1948 at Kansas City as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 205th Medical Battalion, and assigned to the 35th Infantry Division (organic elements organized 24 June 1948 - 9 March 1949 at Kansas City)
  • (Headquarters and Headquarters Company redesignated 15 April 1959 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 205th Medical Battalion)
  • Battalion broken up 1 April 1963 and its elements reorganized and redesignated as follows:
  • Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 205th Medical Battalion, and relieved from assignment to the 35th Infantry Division
  • (Company A as the 864th Medical Company - hereafter separate lineage)
  • Company B as the 135th United States Army Hospital (see ANNEX)
  • Location changed 1 January 1986 to Kansas City
  • Location changed 1 January 1989 to Mountain Grove
  • Expanded, reorganized, and redesignated 1 October 1995 in the Missouri, Indiana, Arkansas, and Illinois Army National Guard as the 205th Medical Battalion, concurrently, location of Headquarters changed to Kansas City
  • Consolidated 1 October 1996 with the 135th Surgical Hospital (see ANNEX), and consolidated unit designated as the 205th Medical Battalion
  • Ordered into active Federal service 12 December 2002 at home stations; released from active Federal service 25 June 2003 and reverted to state control
  • Battalion broken up 1 September 2006 and its elements reorganized as the 205th Medical Company, the 215th Medical Company, and the 708th Medical Company (215th Medical Company, the 213th Medical Company, and the 708th Medical Company; hereafter separate lineages)
  • Ordered into active Federal service 1 December 2007 at Kansas City; released from active Federal service 3 January 2009 and reverted to state control

  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 February 1949 as the Clearing Company, 205th Medical Battalion

  • Consolidated 1 April 1963 with Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 229th Medical Battalion (organized and Federally recognized 15 September 1949 at Springfield), and consolidated unit designated as the 135th United States Army Hospital, a Table of Distribution and Allowances unit
  • Reorganized 1 September 1988 as the 135th Surgical Hospital
