Constituted 15 July 1946 in the Organized Reserves as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 108th Airborne Division Artillery

Activated 30 October 1947 at Atlanta, Georgia

(Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)

Reorganized and redesignated 1 March 1952 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 108th Division Artillery

Location changed 1 April 1952 to Durham, North Carolina; changed 1 October 1955 to Charlotte, North Carolina

Reorganized and redesignated 30 April 1959 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 108th Regiment, an element of the 108th Division (Training), and location changed to Raleigh, North Carolina (organic elements concurrently organized as new units)

Regiment reorganized 31 January 1968 to consist of the 1st and 2d Battalions, elements of the 108th Division (Training)

Reorganized and redesignated 1 December 1971 to consist of the 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions, elements of the 108th Division (Training)

Reorganized 16 October 1978 to consist of the 1st, 2d, 3d, and 4th Battalions, elements of the 108th Division (Training)

Reorganized 1 October 1994 to consist of the 1st, 2d, 3d, and 4th Battalions, elements of the 108th Division (Institutional Training)

Reorganized 13 January 1995 to consist of the 1st, 3d, and 4th Battalions, elements of the 108th Division (Institutional Training)
