- Organized in September 1917 at Camp Travis, Texas
- Demobilized in June 1919 at Camp Bowie, Texas
- Reconstituted 24 June 1921 in the Organized Reserves as the 360th Infantry and assigned to the 90th Division
- Organized in November 1921 with Headquarters at Houston, Texas
- Relieved 20 February 1942 from assignment to the 90th Division; concurrently withdrawn from the Organized Reserves and allotted to the Army of the United States as an inactive unit
- Disbanded 11 November 1944
- Reconstituted 27 March 1959 in the Army Reserve as the 360th Regiment
- Activated 1 May 1959 as an element of the 91st Division (Training) with Headquarters at Sacramento, California
- Reorganized 20 January - 29 February 1968 to consist of the 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions, elements of the 91st Division (Training)
- 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions inactivated 16-17 October 1986 and relieved from assignment to the 91st Division (Training)
- 360th Regiment reorganized 16 April 1995 to consist of the 2d and 3d Battalions, elements of the 91st Division (Exercise)
- Reorganized 17 October 1999 to consist of the 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions, elements of the 91st Division (Training Support); 1st Battalion concurrently allotted to the Regular Army
- Regiment reorganized 1 May 2007 as a parent regiment under the United States Army Regimental System; concurrently 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions relieved from assignment to the 91st Division [Training Support])
