Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 36th Signal Battalion, reorganized and redesignated 1 March 1970 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 36th Signal Battalion (organic elements concurrently inactivated in Vietnam)

26 August 1971 at Fort Lewis, Washington
