            Activated 10 February 1941 at Camp Peay, Tennessee

            Reorganized and redesignated 25 September 1949 as the 58th Signal Battalion, Corps

            Inactivated 26 June 1950 in Japan

            Redesignated 2 March 1967 as the 58th Signal Battalion

            Activated 26 May 1967 at Fort Lewis, Washington

            Inactivated (less Company B) 1 February 1980 at Fort Lewis, Washington (Company B concurrently inactivated at Fort Gordon, Georgia)

            Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 58th Signal Battalion, reorganized and redesignated 16 October 1992 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 58th Signal Battalion, and activated in Japan
