Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 98th Signal Battalion, activated 24 May 1956 at East Orange, New Jersey

Location changed 19 February 1957 to Montclair, New Jersey

Inactivated 1 June 1959 at Montclair, New Jersey

Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 98th Signal Battalion, redesignated 31 January 1968 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 98th Signal Battalion, and activated at Rochester, New York

Location changed 1 July 1968 to Webster, New York

Inactivated 17 June 1990 at Webster, New York

Battalion activated 18 September 2008 with Headquarters at Mesa, Arizona (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
