• Constituted 3 July 1946 in the Missouri National Guard as the 735th Ordnance Maintenance Company and assigned to the 35th Infantry Division
• Organized and Federally recognized 29 October 1947 at Jefferson City
• Reorganized and redesignated 1 November 1952 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 735th Ordnance Battalion (organic elements concurrently reorganized and redesignated from existing units)
• (Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 735th Ordnance Battalion, reorganized and redesignated 15 April 1959 as Headquarters and Company A, 735th Ordnance Battalion)
• Battalion broken up 1 April 1963 and its elements reorganized and redesignated as follows:
• Headquarters and Company A as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 735th Ordnance Battalion, and relieved from assignment to the 35th Infantry Division
• (Company B as the 1035th Ordnance Company – hereafter separate lineage)
• Reorganized and redesignated 15 January 1968 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 735th Maintenance Battalion
• Converted and redesignated 1 September 1994 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 835th Support Battalion
• Ordered into active Federal service 15 December 2003 at Jefferson City; released from active Federal service 6 November 2005 and reverted to state control
• Ordered into active Federal service 27 August 2011 at Jefferson City; released from active Federal service 29 September 2012 and reverted to state control
