- Organized and Federally recognized 4 April 1949 in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard at Williamstown as the 722d Transportation Truck Company
- Ordered into active Federal service 11 September 1950 at Williamstown
- (722d Transportation Truck Company [NGUS] organized and Federally recognized 15 June 1953 at Williamstown)
- Reorganized and redesignated 25 June 1953 as the 722d Transportation Company
- Released 28 January 1955 from active Federal service and reverted to state control; Federal recognition concurrently withdrawn from the 722d Transportation Company (NGUS)
- Reorganized and redesignated 1 April 1963 as part of Company B, 228th Supply and Transport Battalion, an element of the 28th Infantry Division
- Reorganized and redesignated 17 February 1968 as the 131st Transportation Company and relieved from assignment to the 28th Infantry Division
- Ordered into active Federal service 11 November 1990 at Williamstown; released from active Federal service 6 June 1991 and reverted to state control
- Ordered into active Federal service 7 February 2003 at Williamstown; released from active Federal service 9 June 2004 and reverted to state control
- Ordered into active Federal service 27 November 2010 at Williamstown; released from active Federal service 31 December 2011 and reverted to state control
