Constituted 26 December 1942 in the Army of the United States as Company D, 494th Port Battalion, Transportation Corps

Activated 25 February 1943 at the New Orleans Port of Embarkation, Louisiana

Reorganized and redesignated 30 June 1943 as the 241st Port Company

Inactivated 2 January 1946 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey

Redesignated 26 October 1948 as the 241st Transportation Port Company and allotted to the Organized Reserves

Activated 11 November 1948 at Memphis, Tennessee

(Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)

Ordered into active military service 3 September 1950 at Memphis, Tennessee

Reorganized and redesignated 15 November 1954 as the 241st Transportation Company

Released 6 January 1955 from active military service and reverted to reserve status

Inactivated 7 January 1955 at Memphis, Tennessee

Activated 13 August 1965 at Fort Eustis, Virginia and concurrently allotted to the Regular Army

Inactivated 4 June 1971 in Vietnam

Activated 16 April 2005 at Fort Story, Virginia
