  • Constituted 14 May 1936 in the Organized Reserves as Company A, 1st Battalion, 475th Quartermaster Regiment
  • Activated 1 July 1936 at Vincennes, Indiana
  • Ordered into active military service 14 December 1942 at Camp Blanding, Florida, and concurrently redesignated as Company A, 1st Battalion, 475th Quartermaster Truck Regiment
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 February 1944 as the 3781st Quartermaster Truck Company
  • Inactivated 31 May 1946 at the Seattle Port of Embarkation, Washington
  • Converted and redesignated 1 August 1946 as the 3781st Transportation Corps Truck Company
  • Redesignated 9 December 1946 as the 424th Transportation Corps Truck Company
  • Activated 20 December 1946 at Johnstown, Pennsylvania
  • Redesignated 13 October 1947 as the 424th Transportation Truck Company
  • (Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)
  • Reorganized and redesignated 2 June 1953 as the 424th Transportation Company
  • Ordered into active military service 15 October 1961 at Johnstown, Pennsylvania; released from active military service 4 August 1962 and reverted to reserve status
  • Location changed 31 January 1968 to Galax, Virginia
  • Ordered into active military service 17 November 1990 at Galax, Virginia; released from active military service 9 July 1991 and reverted to reserve status
  • Ordered into active military service 5 October 2004 at Galax, Virginia; released from active military service 13 December 2005 and reverted to reserve status
