  • Constituted 15 March 1956 in the Virginia Army National Guard as Company A, 1030th Engineer Battalion
  • Organized and Federally recognized 17 September 1956 at Big Stone Gap
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 February 1968 as the 2d Platoon, 1031st Engineer Company
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 December 1971 as the 1032d Engineer Company
  • Converted, reorganized, and redesignated 1 November 1975 as the 1032d Transportation Company
  • Ordered into active Federal service 20 November 1990 at Big Stone Gap; released from active Federal service 5 June 1991 and reverted to state control
  • Consolidated 1 January 1996 with the 1033d Transportation Company (see ANNEX 1) and consolidated unit designated as the 1032d Transportation Company; concurrently, location changed to Gate City
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 December 2000 as Detachment 2, 1032d Transportation Company
  • Ordered into active Federal service 7 February 2003 at Gate City; released from active Federal service 6 June 2004 and reverted to state control
  • Consolidated 1 October 2008 with the 1032d Transportation Company (see ANNEX 2) and consolidated unit designated as the 1032d Transportation Company
