Welcome to Functional Community 61 (FC-61)
Career training for Army Archivists, Historians, Museum Specialists, and Heraldry Professionals

The Functional Community 61 (formerly Career Program 61) now falls under the direction of the Army Civilian Career Management Activity (ACCMA). The FC-61 Mission is to provide life cycle talent management resources to develop a competent, adaptive Civilian workforce that keeps pace with learning innovations and technological advancements.

Functional Community 61 consists of the Army’s Archivist, Historians, Museum Specialist, and Heraldry professionals who educate fellow Civilian and Active/Reserve duty counterparts on our rich history and traditions. FC-61 offers leadership programs to ensure Army Civilians are trained, relevant, and effective - including continuous learning opportunities, developmental assignments, mentorship, and short term training.

Based on available career program funding, the FC-61 Functional Community Manager (FCM) provides opportunities for training, education, and professional development. These opportunities are designed to enhance and engage the individual abilities and talents of the workforce to support the Army’s mission and improve the expertise of the workforce.

Information about professional and leader development training opportunities for Army Civilians is available on the Functional Community and Career Field MilSuite pages.
