0900Z XVIII Airborne Corps FRAGO #42 directs the 1st Cavalry Division (-)(reinforced by an air traffic control platoon attached from the 18th Aviation Brigade) and 43d Corps Support Group (-) to begin moving on 22 December 1990 to establish Assembly Area WENDY in the vicinity of NR 300870. Effective with the closure of the 1st Cavalry Division Main Command Post into Assembly Area WENDY, all elements in that area are attached to the ARCENT Support Command. The 1st Cavalry Division will leave Tiger Brigade (1st Brigade, 2d Armored Division) in Assembly Area HORSE with the attachment of a direct support field artillery battalion, a battery of Multiple Launch Rocket System, and its normal and habitual slice of combat support and combat service support elements; plus a logistics task force provided by the 43d Corps Support Group, augmented by an Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM) Company to be attached from the 1st Corps Support Command.
