Constituted 16 October 1942 in the Army of the United States as the 22d Replacement Battalion

Activated 20 October 1942 at Camp Sutton, North Carolina

Battalion broken up 17 November 1943 and its elements reorganized and redesignated as follows:

Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 22d Replacement Battalion

(Companies A, B, and C, as the 290th, 291st, and 292d Replacement Companies, respectively - hereafter separate lineages)

Inactivated 5 December 1945 in Italy

Allotted 23 March 1966 to the Regular Army

Activated 1 June 1966 at Fort Lewis, Washington

Inactivated 29 April 1972 at Oakland Army Base, California

Redesignated 16 May 1980 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 22d Personnel and Administration Battalion, and activated in Germany

Inactivated 15 September 1990 in Germany

Redesignated 16 September 1994 as the 22d Personnel Services Battalion and activated at Fort Lewis, Washington
