- Activated 16 January 1986 at Wheeler Air Force Base, Hawaii
- Reorganized and redesignated 16 May 1988 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 25th Aviation, and remained assigned to the 25th Infantry Division (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
- Battalion redesignated 1 October as 1st Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment
- Relieved 16 November 2005 from assignment to the 25th Infantry Division and assigned to the Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division
- Inactivated 16 August 2006 at Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii
- Activated 16 April 2014 at Fort Carson, Colorado, and remained assigned to the Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division
