- Inactivated 15 September 1996 at Fort Hood, Texas
- Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion, 158th Aviation, redesignated 16 October 1997 as Company B, 158th Aviation, and activated at Fort Hood, Texas
- Redesignated 1 October 2005 as Company B, 158th Aviation Regiment
- Inactivated 15 January 2008 at Fort Hood, Texas
- Redesignated 17 October 2011 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, and activated at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington (organic elements concurrently activated)
