Constituted 21 June 1942 in the Army of the United States as the 31st Chemical Decontamination Company

Activated 14 July 1942 at Camp Bowie, Texas

Inactivated 20 October 1945 at Camp Polk, Louisiana

Redesignated 1 September 1981 as the 31st Chemical Company and allotted to the Regular Army; concurrently assigned to the 4th Infantry Division and activated at Fort Carson, Colorado

Inactivated 15 August 1995 at Fort Carson, Colorado, and relieved from assignment to the 4th Infantry Division

Activated 16 January 1996 at Fort Hood, Texas

Inactivated 15 November 1998 at Fort Hood, Texas

Activated 16 September 2005 at Fort Hood, Texas
