  • Assigned 27 November 1942 to the 11th Airborne Division
  • Activated 25 February 1943 at Camp Mackall, North Carolina
  • Allotted 15 November 1948 to the Regular Army
  • (Company A redesignated 26 February 1951 as Engineer Company, 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team--hereafter separate lineage)
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 March 1957 as the 127th Engineer Battalion
  • Inactivated 1 July 1958 in Germany
  • (11th Airborne Division redesignated 1 February 1963 as the 11th Air Assault Division)
  • Activated 18 July 1963 at Fort Benning, Georgia
  • Inactivated 1 July 1965 at Fort Benning, Georgia, and relieved from assignment to the 11th Air Assault Division
  • Assigned 16 October 2013 to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82d Airborne Division, and activated at Fort Bragg, North Carolina
