- (11th Airborne Division redesignated 1 February 1963 as the 11th Air Assault Division)
- Activated 18 July 1963 at Fort Benning, Georgia
- Inactivated 1 July 1965 at Fort Benning, Georgia, and relieved from assignment to the 11th Air Assault Division
- Assigned 16 October 2013 to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82d Airborne Division, and activated at Fort Bragg, North Carolina
