  • Constituted 3 June 1946 in the Wisconsin National Guard as Company A, 724th Engineer Battalion
  • (724th Engineer Battalion assigned 13 May 1946 to the 32d Infantry Division)
  • Organized and Federally recognized 6 April 1949 at Medford
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 February 1953 as Company A, 724th Engineer Battalion
  • Converted and redesignated 15 February 1959 as Company E, 1st Medium Tank Battalion, 105th Armor
  • Ordered into active Federal service 15 October 1961 at Medford; released from active Federal service 10 August 1962 and reverted to state control
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 April 1963 as Company B, 1st Battalion, 632d Armor
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 November 1965 as the 2d and 3d Engineer Platoons, Company A, 724th Engineer Battalion
  • (724th Engineer Battalion relieved 30 December 1967 from assignment to the 32d Infantry Division)
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 May 1968 as Company D, 724th Engineer Battalion
  • Reorganized and redesignated 2 October 1993 as Company A, 724th Engineer Battalion
  • Ordered into active Federal service 15 March 2003 at Medford; released from active Federal service 15 July 2004 and reverted to state control
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 2008 as the 273d Engineer Company
  • Ordered into active Federal service 5 March 2010 at Medford; released from active Federal service 8 April 2011 and reverted to state control
