Assigned 1 March 1945 to the 17th Airborne Division

Inactivated 16 September 1945 at Camp Myles Standish, Massachusetts

Redesignated 18 June 1948 as the 507th Airborne Infantry

Allotted 25 June 1948 to the Regular Army

Activated 6 July 1948 at Camp Pickett, Virginia

Regiment (less 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions) inactivated 25 May 1949 at Camp Pickett, Virginia (1st and 2d Battalions inactivated 31 March 1949 at Camp Pickett, Virginia; 3d Battalion inactivated 10 April 1949 at Camp Pickett, Virginia)

Relieved 23 October 1985 from assignment to the 17th Airborne Division; concurrently reorganized and redesignated as the 507th Infantry, a parent regiment under the United States Army Regimental System, and transferred to the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command
