       Organized and Federally recognized 31 December 1921 in the South Dakota National Guard at Vermillion as Battery F, 147th Field Artillery

        Inducted into Federal service 25 November 1940 at Vermillion

        Reorganized and redesignated 31 December 1943 as Battery C, 147th Field Artillery Battalion

        Inactivated 17 January 1946 in Japan

        Reorganized and Federally recognized 5 March 1947 in the South Dakota National Guard at Vermillion as Company D, 196th Infantry

        Ordered into active Federal service 1 September 1950 at Vermillion

        (Company D, 196th Infantry [NGUS], organized and Federally recognized 1 September 1952 at Vermillion)

        Released  from active Federal service 10 October 1954 and reverted to state control; concurrently, Federal recognition withdrawn from Company D, 196th Infantry (NGUS)

        Converted, reorganized,  and redesignated 15 September 1956 as Battery C, 260th Field Artillery Battalion

        Converted, reorganized, and redesignated 1 September 1959 as the Wire Platoon, 115th Signal Company

        Reorganized and redesignated 1 November 1963 as Communication Sub-Center 2, 115th Signal Company

      Converted, reorganized, and redesignated 4 January 1968 as the 2d and 3d Clearing Platoons, 730th Medical Company

        Ordered into active Federal service 21 November 1990 at Vermillion; released  from active Federal service 6 May 1991 and reverted to state control

        Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 1993 as the 730th Medical Company
       
        Reorganized and redesignated 1 October 1995 as Company B, 109th Medical Battalion

        Ordered into active Federal service 24 February 2003 at Vermillion; released from active Federal service 6 June 2004 and reverted to state control

        Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 2008 as the 730th Medical Company
