  • Reorganized and redesignated 10 January 1946 as the 56th Military Police Escort Guard Company
  • Reorganized and redesignated 7 May 1946 as the 56th Military Police Prisoner of War Processing Company
  • Inactivated 29 November 1946 at Fort Sam Houston, Texas
  • Activated 25 September 1950 at Camp Gordon, Georgia
  • Allotted 22 June 1951 to the Regular Army
  • Reorganized and redesignated 25 May 1953 as the 56th Military Police Company
  • Inactivated 20 February 1956 at Camp Gordon, Georgia
  • Activated 1 April 1963 at Fort Richardson, Alaska
  • Inactivated 15 November 1993 at Fort Richardson, Alaska
  • Withdrawn 13 April 2004 from the Regular Army and allotted to the Army Reserve
  • Activated 16 September 2006 at Mesa, Arizona
  • Ordered into active military service 25 May 2007 at Mesa, Arizona; released from active military service 27 June 2008 and reverted to reserve status
  • Ordered into active military service 31 March 2013 at Mesa, Arizona
