  • Mustered into Federal service 25-29 June 1916 at Camp Stafford, Louisiaia; mustered out of Federal service 25 September 1916 at Camp Stafford, Louisiana, and reverted to state control
  • Called into Federal service 10 April 1917 at Camp Nicholls, Louisiana; drafted into Federal service 5 August 1917 at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana
  • Reorganized and redesignated 27 September 1917 as Company M, 156th Infantry, an element of the 39th Division
  • Company broken up 29 October 1917 and personnel used to form Companies E, F, G, and H, 154th Infantry, and Company F, 114th Engineers, elements of the 39th Division
  • Demobilized 23 January 1919 at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana
  • Reorganized and Federally recognized 24 August 1921 in the Lousiana National Guard at Alexandria as Company A, a separate company of infantry
  • Redesignated 3 November 1921 as Company A, 156th Infantry, an element of the 39th Division
  • (156th Infantry relieved 1 July 1923 from assignment to the 39th Division and assigned to the 31st Division)
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 December 1926 as the Howitzer Company, 156th Infantry
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 1939 as Company D, 156th Infantry
  • Redesignated 13 January 1940 as Company M, 156th Infantry
  • Inducted into Federal service 25 November 1940 at Alexandria

  • Converted, reorganized, and redesignated 1 July 1959 as a Tactical Carrier Platoon and a Maintenance Section, 1087th Transportation Company; concurrently relieved from assignment to the 39th Infantry Division
  • Consolidated 1 May 1963 with the 3671st Ordnance Company (see ANNEX 1) and consolidated unit designated as the 3671st Ordnance Company
  • Redesignated 1 December 1967 as the 3671st Heavy Equipment Maintenance Company
  • Redesignated 1 November 1975 as the 3671st Maintenance Company
  • Location changed 1 May 1978 to Pineville
  • Consolidated 1 September 2005 with the 2228th Military Police Company (see ANNEX 2) and consolidated unit designated as the 2228th Military Police Company
  • Ordered into active Federal service 17 March 2008 at Pineville; released from active Federal service 20 April 2009 and reverted to state control
