Organized and Federally recognized 13 December 1946 in the Michigan National Guard at Greenville as the Cannon Company, 126th Infantry, an element of the 46th Infantry Division

Reorganized and redesignated 1 November 1948 as the Heavy Mortar Company, 126th Infantry

Reorganized and redesignated 15 March 1959 as Company D, 1st Battle Group, 126th Infantry

Reorganized and redesignated 15 March 1963 as Company C, 1st Battalion, 126th Infantry

Ordered into active Federal service 24 July 1967 at Camp Grayling; released from active Federal service 25 July 1967 and reverted to state control

Relieved 1 February 1968 from assignment to the 46th Infantry Division; concurrently consolidated with the Weapons Platoon, Company A, 3d Battalion, 126th Infantry (organized and Federally recognized 15 November 1965 at Greenville), and Company B, 107th Ordnance Battalion (see ANNEX), and consolidated unit reorganized and redesignated as the 1071st Heavy Equipment Maintenance Company

Redesignated 1 July 1974 as the 1071st Maintenance Company

Redesignated 1 April 1976 as the 1073d Maintenance Company

Ordered into active Federal service 17 November 1990 at Greenville; released from active Federal service 3 June 1991 and reverted to state control

Ordered into active Federal service 25 October 2004 at Greenville; released from active Federal service 15 November 2005 and reverted to state control

ANNEX

Organized and Federally recognized 3 May 1954 in the Michigan Army National Guard at Battle Creek as Company A, 746th Ordnance Battalion, an element of the 46th Infantry Division

Redesignated 15 March 1959 as Company B, 107th Ordnance Battalion, an element of the 46th Infantry Division

Location changed 1 December 1962 to Marshall

Reorganized and redesignated 15 March 1963 as Company B, 107th Maintenance Battalion

Ordered into active Federal service 24 July 1967 at Camp Grayling; released from active Federal service 2 August 1967 and reverted to state control
