Ordered into active military service 15 December 1942 and reorganized at Camp McCain, Mississippi
Inactivated 21 September 1945 at Fort Benning, Georgia
Activated 30 January 1947 in the Organized Reserves with Headquarters at Jacksonville, Florida
(Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)
Inactivated 31 March 1955 at Jacksonville, Florida, and relieved from assignment to the 87th Infantry Division
Redesignated 1 October 1993 as the 347th Regiment and organized to consist of the 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions, elements of the 87th Division (Exercise)
Reorganized 17 October 1999 to consist of the 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions, elements of the 87th Division (Training Support)
(1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions relieved 1 April 2007 from assignment to the 87th Division [Training Support])
