362d Regiment

  • Constituted 5 August 1917 in the National Army as the 362d Infantry and assigned to the 91st Division
  • Organized 4 September 1917 at Camp Lewis, Washington
  • Demobilized 3 May 1919 at Fort D.A. Russell, Wyoming
  • Reconstituted 24 June 1921 in the Organized Reserves as the 362d Infantry and assigned to the 91st Division (later redesignated as the 91st Infantry Division)
  • Organized in November 1921 with Headquarters at Oakland, California
  • Ordered into active military service 15 August 1942 and reorganized at Camp White, Oregon
  • Inactivated 17 November 1945 at Camp Rucker, Alabama
  • Activated 20 January 1947 in the Organized Reserves with Headquarters at Portland, Oregon
  • (Location of Headquarters changed 22 January 1948 to San Francisco, California)
  • (Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 May 1959 as the 362d Regiment, an element of the 91st Division (Training), with Headquarters at San Francisco, California
  • (Location of Headquarters changed 1 July 1959 to San Rafael, California)
  • Reorganized 20 January - 29 February 1968 to consist of the 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions, elements of the 91st Division (Training)
  • Reorganized 1-15 October 1993 to consist of the 2d Battalion, an element of the 91st Division (Exercise)
  • Reorganized 1 October 1994 to consist of the 2d and 3d Battalions, elements of the 91st Division (Exercise)
  • Reorganized 17 October 1999 to consist of the 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions, elements of the 91st Division (Training Support); 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions concurrently allotted to the Regular Army
  • Regiment reorganized 2 October 2009 as a parent regiment under the United States Army Regimental System; concurrently 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions relieved from assignment to the 91st Division (Training Support)
