- Activated 1 June 1941 at Camp Livingston, Louisiana
- Redesignated 1 April 1942 as the 94th Quartermaster Bakery Battalion
- Battalion reorganized and redesignated 13 November 1943 as follows:
- Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 94th Quartermaster Battalion
- (Companies A, B, C, and D as 101st, 102d, 103d, 104th Quartermaster Bakery Companies, respectively; hereafter separate lineages)
- Inactivated 16 March 1946 at Fort Francis E. Warren, Wyoming
- Redesignated 24 February 1947 as the 94th Quartermaster Service Battalion
- Activated 21 April 1947 at Ladd Field, Alaska
- Inactivated 23 August 1948 at Ladd Air Force Base, Alaska
- Redesignated 15 February 1949 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 815th Quartermaster Battalion; concurrently withdrawn from the Regular Army and allotted to the Organized Reserve Corps
- Activated 10 March 1949 at St. Clairsville, Ohio
- Inactivated 27 December 1950 at St. Clairsville, Ohio
- Redesignated 10 January 1952 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 94th Quartermaster Battalion; concurrently withdrawn from the Organized Reserve Corps and allotted to the Regular Army
- Activated 23 January 1952 at Fort Lee, Virginia
- Reorganized and redesignated 8 December 1960 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 94th Quartermaster Battalion (Direct Support); Companies A and B constituted 8 December 1960 and activated 12 December 1960 at Fort Lee, Virginia
- Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 94th Quartermaster Battalion reorganized and redesignated 25 April 1966 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 94th Supply and Service Battalion (organic elements concurrently disbanded)
- Inactivated 15 January 1968 in Vietnam
- Redesignated 30 March 2004 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 94th Support Battalion (organic elements concurrently constituted)
- 94th Support Battalion assigned 16 January 2005 to the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, and activated at Fort Polk, Louisiana
