Activated 12 November 1942 at Camp Van Dorn, Mississippi

Reorganized and redesignated 15 December 1943 as the 3929th Quartermaster Truck Company

Inactivated 29 November 1945 at Camp Myles Standish, Massachusetts

Converted and redesignated 1 August 1946 as the 3929th Transportation Corps Truck Company

Redesignated 13 February 1948 as the 257th Transportation Truck Company and allotted to the Organized Reserves

Activated 10 March 1948 at Billings, Montana

(Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)

Inactivated 28 July 1949 at Billings, Montana

Redesignated 16 May 1982 as the 257th Transportation Company and activated at Las Vegas, Nevada

Ordered into active military service 17 November 1990 at Las Vegas, Nevada; released from active military service 28 May 1991 and reverted to reserve status

Ordered into active military service 10 February 2003 at Las Vegas, Nevada; released from active military service 3 June 2004 and reverted to reserve status

Ordered into active military service 29 January 2008 at Las Vegas, Nevada; released from active military service 3 March 2009 and reverted to reserve status
