  • Activated 15 July 1947 at Camden, New Jersey
  • (Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)
  • Reorganized and redesignated 24 February 1950 as Headquarters, Headquarters and Service Company, 462d Transportation Port Battalion
  • Inactivated 12 July 1950 at Camden, New Jersey
  • Redesignated 30 August 1955 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 462d Transportation Battalion
  • Activated 23 September 1955 at Trenton, New Jersey
  • Location changed 27 October 2003 to Fort Dix, New Jersey; on 1 April 2006 to Trenton, New Jersey
  • Ordered into active military service 27 April 2010 at Trenton, New Jersey; released from active military service 31 May 2011 and reverted to reserve status
