  • Activated 10 December 1943 in Tunisia
  • Inactivated 11 February 1946 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey
  • Converted and redesignated 1 August 1946 as the 3634th Transportation Corps Truck Company
  • Redesignated 16 May 1948 as the 639th Transportation Truck Company and allotted to the Organized Reserve Corps
  • Activated 8 June 1948 at Kingsport, Tennessee
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 February 1950 as the 639th Transportation Heavy Truck Company
  • (Organized Reserve Corps redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)
  • Reorganized and redesignated 30 April 1953 as the 639th Transportation Company
  • Ordered into active military service 1 October 1961 at Kingsport, Tennessee; released from active military service 4 August 1962 and reverted to reserve status
