Inside The OAA | May 2018
The Center of Military History welcomed its new Deputy Director Susan K. Springman in April.
Springman graduated from the Defense Senior Leadership Development Program in April. The highly selective DSLDP is the DoD's premier program to develop senior civilian leaders. Springman had the honor of serving as the President of her cohort. In May 2017, she graduated from the Air War College. Prior to joining the federal workforce, she served as an Army Field Artillery Officer. She and her husband, Jeffery Springman, are the proud parents of four children.
Prior to joining OAA, she served in several positions of increasing responsibility within the United States Army Force Management Support Agency.
Recently she served as the Sustainment Division Chief - located at Fort Lee, Virginia. As the Division Chief she established strategic direction and provided executive leadership in the development and production of requirements and authorizations for the Army's sustainment force structure.
Additionally, she led the development of policy, business rules, and the development of "how to" manuals for use across the USAFMSA and TRADOC Centers of Excellence.
At OAA, she will be serving as the Deputy Director of the CMH, where she is tasked with standing up the Army Museum Enterprise, celebrating the Centennial of World War I, and preparing to open the National Museum of the United States Army, among other missions.
