I'm Senior Airman Chay Sullivan , and this is your AFN Humphreys radio update . I recently sat down with Sergeant Major Chuck Burden , the 8th Army Public Affairs senior enlisted leader , to talk about the Army's 250th birthday . June 14th in 2025 will mark the 250th Army birthday . Now , the Army of today is the most powerful . and effective land force in the entire world . The army's greatest asset obviously is our people you can't do it without people and uh I believe personally that some of the finest men and women of our great nation happen to be in the army . I've had a fantastic career working with a lot of fantastic people . The theme this year is this will defend . Now that's the central theme for everything that we do with the Army's birthday this year and what it does is it highlights the army's purpose of fighting and winning our nation's wars . He went on to talk about plans for celebrating the army and its 250th birthday . What better way to celebrate that than with a birthday party ? So we're gonna have one of those , you know , 250 years . I'll say it again , the army has served , uh , it's a steadfast guardian of the United States and to allies and partners . And so to celebrate that we're inviting everyone to come celebrate the 250th birthday of the Army with us at the US Army Ball . It's gonna be hosted by 8th Army and it's Friday , June 13th . Now this ball is open to everyone , every branch of service , uh , civilians , local nationals , and families . I want everyone to consider coming and joining us to celebrate our 250th for tickets and . Location and more details , you're gonna have to check the Army Garrison or 8th Army social media web page .
