Visiting the Museum

The National Infantry Museum is open on weekends. The museum will continue to adhere to CDC safety protocols.
Admission free
The National Infantry Museum will be closed the following holidays: Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center (NIMSC) emphasizes the values that define the Infantry Soldier as well as the Nation they protect: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. It preserves and exhibits one of the greatest collections of military artifacts in the world, with 190,000 square feet of galleries standing on a 200-acre tract just outside the United States Army Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE) at Fort Benning, Georgia. The MCoE is one of the Army’s largest installations and the home of the Infantry and Airborne Schools, as well as Ranger School, Officer Candidate School, and Armor School.

The National Infantry Museum and Soldier center is operated as a formal partnership between the U.S. Army and National Infantry Museum Foundation a 501 (c)(3) organization to manage the facility and public programs.

After rebranding the National Infantry Museum opened at its current location in June 2009, now known as The National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center and has greeted over 3 million visitors from across the world since then. The facility offers more than just museum galleries, it also offers a simulation center, restaurant, giant screen theater, Global War on Terrorism and Vietnam memorials and a WWII company street. The National Infantry Association office is also located inside NIMSC, The National Infantry Association (NIA) supports the Infantry Branch, the Chief of Infantry, and the National Infantry Museum. The NIA recognizes significant contributions made to the Infantry with the Order of Saint Maurice awarded to Soldiers and Infantry supporters, and the Shield of Sparta awarded to spouses.”

The National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center is recognized as one of the premier military attractions in the Nation by numerous outlets including USA Today and TripAdvisor. In 2011, the museum was awarded the prestigious Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement by the Themed Entertainment Association and was voted Best Free museum in America 2016 by USA Today.
