The U.S. Army Engineer Museum is a federal museum, chartered through the United States Army. We offer a variety of gallery displays including: the development of American Army engineering equipment, topographic engineering, landmine warfare, tactical bridging, special weapons, and much more.
Artifacts have been used to support instruction at the U.S. Army Engineer School since 1868. A small office in the Department of Instruction maintained these artifacts. In 1920, the artifact collection was moved to a new facility and opened to the public. In 1953, the Engineer Museum was formally recognized by the Department of the Army. In 1989, the Engineer Museum moved from Fort Belvoir, Virginia to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Today the Engineer Museum has over 10,000 square feet of galleries that present the history of the Army Corps of Engineers from the American Revolution to the modern era.
